With only 1 race left we are sure that you are all anxious to see where you are sitting.  There are some tight races forming and the last race on October 2nd should be interesting as there are saddles up for grabs in the Open Barrels!

A GREAT SAVE!

At our August 14th race at Hidden Valley Arena member Karen Baggett took matters into her own hands.  Check out her save to put her in the money!  Congrats Karen, great job!

Cancer Benefit Race

On Saturday August 7, 2010 there will be an Open 5D Barrel Race to benefit Nevada families affected by Cancer.  The race is sanctioned with AW4D and will be held at the C-M Arena (McCauleys) in Palomino Valley.  Time Only's start at 9:00 am and the race will start at 11:00 am.  The Open 5D is offering $1000 added with a $45 entry fee.  There will also be a Senior and Youth division both boasting $100 added with a $20 entry fee.

Pictures from July 24th Race!

25 Years Young

Check out these shots of Heather Green on her gelding "Sugar".  He is 25 years young.  Heather and Sugar took home a check for 1st place in the 1D Pole Bending at the July 10 race!  Heather has had Sugar for the past 21 years and tells us that along with running poles he has also been taken on hunting trips for the past 20 years.  He is responsible for packing out a deer each year! 
What a great team!  A true testament to the loving care provided to Sugar!

For the first two races of the season our average overall payouts are $2,300.00!!!!!
Just to re-cap if we get 50 or more entries in the Open Division our added money will be $500.00.  Under 50 entries it is $250.00.  In addition please remember that our payout is 70% of the entry fees.

Volunteers Needed

We are in need of volunteers for the upcoming race on Saturday June 5th.  We will need help at the registration desk, setting up barrels/poles and helping at the gate during time only's.  Please e-mail us at hdbra@gbis.com if you are interested in helping at the race.

1st Series Race - May 16, 2010

We held our first race of the 2010 season on Sunday May 16th!  The weather was beautiful and the ground was quick.  With 60 entries in the Open it was evident that the winter was too long and everyone was itching to get back in the saddle.  

We would like to give a big thank you to our volunteers that helped out at the first race: Mike Farrell, Scott Burton, Brad Bender, Kimberly Bender, Kathy Archuleta & Cindy Thomas.

We would also like to thank Brad & Kimberly Bender with Just Add Water for supplying the water for the race!

Hope to see you at the next race on Saturday June 5th.  Time only's start at 9:30 am and the race starts at 11:00 am.  Show up early if you would like time only's as we were sold out by 10:00 am at the last race.
